A Thread Through Time

Arundhati is a star known for its quiet strength and constancy. In the celestial dance, it moves in perfect harmony with its partner, never wavering. The name Arundhati Bandhakala reflects this spirit.

The Art of Bandhakala

‘Bandhakala’ refers to the ancient art of Bandha (Ikat) weaving from the heart of Odisha. Unlike printed fabrics, the design is conceived long before the loom is touched.

The process is incredibly intricate—individual threads are precisely tied, dyed to a pre-determined pattern, and then woven. Our collections also draw inspiration from Bomkai, blending the geometric precision of Ikat with the ornate supplementary weft work of the coast.

The Heart of Our Heritage

At the centre of Arundhati Bandhakala are the weavers, the custodians of a lineage that spans centuries.

3,000 Looms of Legacy

Our community spans nearly 3,000 looms, creating a shared space where ancient tradition meets contemporary creative ideas. We don’t just provide work; we nurture a living heritage.
